Percy
"I'm so happy," is a direct quote from Percy regarding his job at
Yerba Buena Bowling Ally. Percy was hired by the Bowling Alley in May 2000
as a Janitorial Assistant.
He is part of the morning cleaning team whose responsibility is to
prepare and clean the bowling lanes and equipment. He is a reliable and
hardworking employee who really loves his job.
When he's not working, Percy loves to dance, listen to music and bowl.
Percy believes that he has the perfect job, great co-workers, good music to
listen to while he is working, and the fringe benefit of free bowling.
Sandra
Sandra gained much work experience through voluntary work in community
organizations. She was confident and determined to persue her dream of
getting a paid job. With the help of CES Sandra developed a work
plan. She created a portfolio of experience, and ventured out to find
suitable positions and to meet with prospective employers.
Today Sandra is a proud and valued employee of virgin Megastore in
downtown San Francisco. She works in virgin's re-stock department
processing CD's, DVD's and videos for display and sale.
Her first major paycheck purchase? A CD player!
Joseph
Joe signed up with CES in 1992 after completing school. He was
employed almost immediately by Pizzeria Uno and is still with them today.
Eager and determined to get on with his adult life, Joe learned to
travel on his own to work. Before long, with his strong work ethic,
and supportive employer and managers, Joe was working on his own too!
Over the years, Joe has done a wide varietyof tasks in the kitchen and
dining rooms of Uno's Embarcadero and Lombard locations.
A nature lover and artist, after work Joe loves going to city museums
and libraries. He has also enjoyed taking art classes at a community
studio.
